A Calm Way to Handle Overthinking

Overthinking can feel like your mind is trying to solve everything at once. Mindfulness helps by giving your attention somewhere steady to rest, instead of asking your thoughts to disappear immediately.

Start by placing both feet on the floor. Feel the ground under you. Take three slower breaths. Then ask yourself, “What is the next kind thing I can do?” Not the perfect thing. Not the final answer. Just the next kind step.

You can also try writing a quick thought list. Put the worries on paper, then circle only the things you can act on today. Everything else can be acknowledged without being carried all at once.

Overthinking often softens when we stop arguing with every thought. Notice it, breathe, and return to one small action. Calm is not always instant, but it can be practiced in pieces.
